It is a centuries-old cultural and spiritual practice that families across Mexico (and increasingly the rest of Latin America) observe every November. These lessons teach it that way. The comparison reading (DDM vs. Halloween) is explicit and student-led. The summative is a build-your-own ofrenda for someone the student admires.
