Sole Mejía-Trujillo
Sole is a heritage Spanish teacher in a US public high school with a majority-Latinx student population. She is a daughter of Mexican immigrants, grew up speaking Spanish in northern California, and writes about what it actually feels like to be both a heritage speaker and a Spanish teacher. Her writing centers heritage students who get taught as if they were L2 learners and the classroom moves that fix that.
