Section II Task 4 (Cultural Comparison) is the four-minute prep + two-minute delivery task that produces more student anxiety than any other AP exam moment. The fear is real; the fix is structure. This pack ships eight newly authored prompts covering all six AP themes (Familias, Belleza, Tecnología, Vida Contemporánea, Identidades, Desafíos, plus a Theme 1 variant on holiday traditions and a Theme 3 variant on social-media regulation), each with prep guidance and self-check items. Two model responses are transcribed from actual 5/5 student recordings, with annotations identifying exactly which moves anchor the score. The 4-section response framework (15-sec intro + 40-sec your community + 40-sec their community + 25-sec analysis) turns improvisation into automation. 12 sentence frames map to the 4 sections, with 3 frames per section so students never run out of connectives. The heritage variant explicitly authorizes two-Spanish-speaking-community comparisons (Mexican-American Houston compared to Guanajuato, Cuban-American Miami compared to Madrid). The AP rubric permits this, and Model Response 2 demonstrates it at full marks. The pack documents what separates a 3 from a 4 from a 5 with from-the-scoring-room precision: structure visibility, specific-example-per-community, connector use, analysis depth, cultural specificity, personal close, sustained register. 16-week spring study sequence rotates through all 8 prompts with weekly recording + self-scoring against the AP rubric. Pairs with the AP Free Response Pack (which covers all 4 Section II tasks at lighter depth) and the AP Listening Pack (Section 1 + IB orals). Together: complete AP exam prep. Polished 18-page PDF plus editable Word + Slides scaffolds.
