How it runs in your room

Tech is the AP theme where the textbook ages fastest. This unit teaches the patterns underneath instead of the apps: addiction, attention economy, generational rift, sustainability trade-offs. Twenty class days across four weeks. Week 1 anchors on sustentabilidad with an authentic-style essay and the imperfect-vs-preterite grammar sequence (WALT D APE speaking activity included). Week 2 pivots to redes sociales with cross-country adoption data (México, Argentina, España, Colombia), five interpersonal discussion prompts that force students to defend both sides of the phone-ban debate, and the first AP Task 1 email reply practice anchored to a tech context. Week 3 covers la nomofobia with the article + video analysis, a ventajas/desventajas graphic organizer, the Apple-vs-Microsoft AP-style comparative worksheet, and the campaña viral project launch with a heritage track centering transnational tech equity (remittance apps, WhatsApp-mediated family life, app-based gig work). Week 4 stacks the conditional + imperfect subjunctive + si-clauses grammar trio (the hardest AP grammar, taught against a topic that needs it), AP-style Section 1B listening on sustainability, a focused si-clause quiz, and the summative AP-style argumentative essay on phone-ban policy. Includes the 5-strand AP-aligned summative rubric, proficiency scales for subjuntivo + condicional, full differentiation menu with Heritage Track 4, and the year-3 cheat sheet documenting every pacing trap, grammar trap, and vibes trap the unit produces.
